Introducing the Thimzy Safe Train: A Journey to Empowerment and Safety for Women and Girls

A VISION FOR CHANGE

Despite efforts to improve gender equality and women’s empowerment, many communities in Sierra Leone remain unsafe for women and girls. Issues such as gender-based violence, lack of economic opportunities, inadequate access to education, and limited sexual and reproductive health services persist.

The Thimzy Safe Train is a mobile safe space initiative designed to tackle these challenges. Through community safety assessments, resource identification, opportunity mapping, and advocacy, the initiative promotes education, economic security, and sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR). This transformative movement ensures that women and girls can access opportunities that enhance their well-being and independence.

WHO WE ARE

Thimzy Empowerment Initiative represents resilience, empowerment, and opportunity for vulnerable young women and girls in Sierra Leone. Through skills training, access to resources, and advocacy, the initiative breaks cycles of poverty, school dropouts, and economic instability. By fostering leadership, inclusive growth, and social justice, Thimzy provides women and girls with the tools they need to shape their futures and contribute to their communities.
