As a proud partner organization working alongside the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs, we were honored to be part of this year’s planning committee for the International Women’s Day celebrations. This annual event serves as a global reminder of the ongoing fight for gender equality and the immense contributions of women in every sector of society.
Our Executive Director had the distinct privilege of participating in the High-Level Policy Dialogue: For All Women and Girls – Equality, Rights, Empowerment. This insightful session brought together influential voices from government, NGOs, civil society organizations (CSOs), and entrepreneurs, all unified in their commitment to advancing gender equality in Sierra Leone. It was an especially proud moment as our Executive Director was invited to open the session with a Muslim prayer, setting a tone of unity and reflection for the discussions that followed.
A Historic Celebration at Miatta Conference Center
On March 8, 2025, we had the honor of joining the Honorable Vice President and the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs at the vibrant Miatta Conference Center in Freetown to commemorate International Women’s Day under the powerful theme: “For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, and Empowerment.” The energy in the room was electric, charged with inspiring stories, bold ideas, and a shared determination to break barriers and create a more just and equitable future for all.
The event was a testament to the strength, resilience, and ingenuity of women from all walks of life. From grassroots activists to high-level policymakers, every voice contributed to a dynamic conversation about the progress made and the work that still lies ahead. It was a moment of reflection, celebration, and renewed commitment to advocating for women’s rights and opportunities.
